Ok, ok ,ok. God, where do I start? I feel like I should put my two cents in.
First off I don’t hate Blaine or Darren. Just wanted to state that off the bat. But, I’m defiantly not a klainer either.
My problem with Blaine has been (Like many others), his lack of character.
He was Kurt’s gay friend, someone who was out and proud and helped him through a difficult part of his life. I liked him for that I really did. Then he became the object of Kurt’s affection, even after he rejected Kurt. (Remember that? That did happen, it wasn’t love at first sight for him or anything) And finally he became Kurt’s boyfriend and it was all Klaine rainbows.
Notice something? Notice that Blaine’s entire character and purpose revolves around Kurt?
Apart from some small tidbits here and there we really know very little about him.
*Pointing out a few things. We have no actually proof his home life is bad. His parent’s sent him to Dalton after his bullying issue’s, they can’t be too bad, jeeze. Second, he got the crap beat out of him at a school dance. he did, in no way, shape, or form, almost die. Remember we’re working in cannon, forgot the fan fiction assumptions for a minute ok?
I don’t care about the number of songs he gets (Although it would be nice for a Kurt solo, y’know? Just like one at least …), it’s glee, the number of songs and solos people get have never been fair and I’m not holding my breath for when they will be. But I’ve listened to them and downloaded them, and I like them. Darren Criss has an amazing voice, and he is a talented actor, most of my issues are with how Blaine’s written. Not the acting.
And all that being said, I am actually excited for this episode. Blaine’s going to get a real background story? He’s actually going to have some scene’s that are not about Kurt and his relationship? AWESOME! He’s going to be a real boy now and I’m looking forward to it.
Now, I’m not going to get into my issue’s with Klaine in this post (Although they are numerous).
Can we all just remember for a moment what we’re watching. IT’S FUCKING GLEE! There will always be continuity issues, certain people will always numerous solos while other’s will be ignored, and we will never be a 100% happy about any part of it. But, seriously? We are all fans, we are all gleeks. Sometimes I just wish we could chill the fuck out and respect other’s opinions.
